Creative Writing: Poetry Style

Each week in Preparing Hearts for His Glory we are studying poetry by Robert Louis Stevenson. One day per week there is a creative writing activity based on the week's poem. This week we have enjoyed the poem 'To Any Reader'. Here is what Caterpillar saw as he looked through his window of the book.

A Face in the Cloud

So you may see, if you will look

Through the windows of this book,

Another face, far, far away,

And in the clouds, stay.

But do not think you can at all,

By knocking on the window, call

That face to see you. He intent

Inside my heart - making content.

- Caterpillar

After completing the assignment, I asked Caterpillar whose face he saw.

His answer, "Jesus!"
