Our Fridays are typically enrichment days. It has been a huge blessing this year to incorporate a Music History Study! Thus far we have studied how the Orchestra began, and what it was like in its beginning stages. Being played only for Kings, royalty and churches at first was something Caterpillar had never thought about! We have enjoyed music from various composers such as Vivaldi, Bach, Haydn and Mozart, as well as learning more about each composer and his life! Vivaldi was known as the "Red Priest", for his red hair and ministry work in orphanages.

We are making a notebook to remember the many interesting things we are learning. Here are some examples of Caterpillar's work.
As the year continues we will also learn about the various sections of an orchesta, instruments and different periods of music. There is so much to learn about music and the orchestra!

This is wonderful. I think we will add this to our week also. Do you mind to tell me where you got the coloring pages? I just saw the first book you listed in a bargain book store the other day and almost bought it. I will have to go back & get it now. Do you like it? I had also checked out the 2nd book you listed from the library before but did not use it. Blessings.
