Waiting Patiently and Joyfully!

Christmastime is such a busy time! It is hard to think of it as a time to be patient!

Yesterday was a fun filled day. We took Caterpillar to see Santa. However, before getting out of the truck to go into the mall he asked, "Can we listen to the rest of this song first?" Usually we are listening to KLOVE, and the song playing was "How He Loves" by the David Crowder Band. When it was finished he said, "I am so glad Jesus loves us!" It was such a heart warming moment. Seeing how in such a material filled, instant gratification world we live in, we can still teach our children the love of Christ, and God comes first. Don't get me wrong, there are days where Caterpillar does have the 'me first' focus. Yet it was such a precious moment to cherish!

By waiting patiently, we grow in Christ, drawing closer to Him. Since the beginning of the Advent season, we have been enjoying making our Jesse Tree, and reading Jotham's Journey. Grasshopper, Caterpillar and I have had some wonderful family discussions of the incarnation of Christ. Last night we went to see the Holiday Lights on the Boardwalk. They were simply beautiful. Caterpillar's favorite was an ark with various animals and dinosaurs. There were drummers drumming, pipers piping, and lords a leaping! It was late when we arrived back home, but Caterpillar was anxious to do family devotions and read Jotham's Journey! It is an awesome blessing to see him grow in Christ, as we wait patiently and joyfully this Christmas Season!

That's awesome, Butterfly! I'm struggling this year to get into the attitude of Advent. Sigh. Thank you for pointing us in the right direction.

It's all God's work here, usually happens when I'm in the trenches! :-)
