We have recently finished reading and studying The Black Stallion by Walter Farley. Caterpillar was literally on the edge of his seat everyday! This book was packed full of incredible adventure and heart warming character. Along with each chapter, we completed a lesson in DITHOR, Drawn into the Heart of Reading. At the end of each book and genre studied we do a project. Here are some photos of his finished work.

We have also discovered that there are many sequels written as well. Caterpillar has already whispered into Santa's ear which one he would like to read next!
