Where do you find rest?

What comes to mind when you think of 'Devotions'?
Which emotions are conjured up within?
Guilt? Shame?
Lack of Time?
Lack of Desire?
It is easy for our daily lives and time to become so filled.
Errands to run.
Meetings to attend.
Housework.
Laundry.
Our children's schedules.
How do we fit it all in?
And what do you do when life throws you a curve?
Or life just happens?!

This weekend I was blessed with the privledge of attending a Women's Seminar at our church. It was appropriately titled "When Life Happens". How do we respond? Do we get frustrated? Discouraged? Angry? Saddened? Disappointed? Weary? The list can go on and on. Often times we are tempted to respond in our sinful self-centered ways. However, when life happens, the Lord wants us to turn to HIM! He wants us to rely upon Him and His will for our lives. When we do this, we repent. When we repent, we walk in faith. We walk in His light and we find rest!

At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:27-30
How do we find time? Daily Devotions? It comes with the desire to have a relationship with the Father. When we desire to walk with Him, we are in Him daily. Relying upon Him. Spending quiet time with Him. Finding rest! I pray that you may find rest in Him! Amen!
