Enrichment Day at the Zoo

We were blessed with great spring weather today!

It was perfect for our trip to the Virginia Zoo.

Each spring the zoo has an "Enrichment Day".

New animals are introduced, and there are feedings galore!

The animals are full of life and 'show-off' a bit!

This particular elephant has been known to show her artistic abilities with a paint brush!

The prairie dogs were full of fun and frolic.
Caterpillar was thrilled to be right there with them!





The lions were busy gnawing on their block of ice.
It was filled with their yummy feast!





Without a shadow of a doubt, this one was the 'king'.


We enjoyed lunch outside, while watching the rhinos and zebras.
