Listen in the Quiet
Just as I am to have gracious speech, at times I must be quiet.
How am I to hear the Lord's will, while my lips are moving.
To hear the Lord's voice, at times we must be quiet, and even silent.
"Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few." Ecclesiastes 5:2
"In your anger do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
Selah." Psalm 4:4
"But the LORD is in his holy temple;
let all the earth be silent before him." Habakkuk 2:20
Then Moses and the priests, who are Levites, said to all Israel, "Be silent, O Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the LORD your God. Obey the LORD your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today." Deuteronomy 27:9-10
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10
I will listen...
in the quiet of His presence.
